Juan Perez, Guinness’ World Record Holder for Oldest Man, Passes Away at Age 114

Juan Vicente Perez Mora, an esteemed Venezuelan man, has passed away just weeks before his 115th birthday. Guinness World Records recognized him as the oldest man in the world on February 4, 2022, when he was 112 years and 253 days old. In his lifetime, Mr. Mora achieved numerous accomplishments and witnessed significant historical events such as both World Wars, the invention of television, and the moon landing.

Mr. Mora attributed his longevity to a simple lifestyle that included hard work, rest, early bedtimes, a daily glass of aguardiente, and his strong faith in God. He was a father of 11 children who cherished their family traditions dearly. As a sheriff known for resolving disputes in his community, Mr. Mora exemplified humility and dedication to serving others.

Governor Freddy Bernal expressed deep sadness at Mr. Mora’s passing while paying tribute to him as a humble and hardworking man who made significant contributions to his community and country. President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela also offered condolences to Mr. Perez’s family and the people of El Cobre in Tachira state on social media.
