HCA Virginia Organized a No-Cost Mental Health Event for the Community in Richmond

On Saturday, HCA Virginia hosted a block party celebration in Richmond to promote healthy living. The event, which took place on June 15 at Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, featured a mental health panel discussion, engaging activities, and informative booths.

The theme of the celebration was “Jubilee – A Celebrational Fair to Promote Healthy Living,” with a specific focus on mental health awareness. Rolynn Wilson, the Weekend Evening Anchor for 8News, moderated a panel discussion emphasizing the importance of mental health, particularly within the Black community.

Dr. Nancy Boykin, the chief operating officer and chief nursing officer for HCA Retreat Doctors’ Hospital, highlighted that all the vendors at the event were focused on mental health, wellness, and self-improvement. The goal was to address the stigma surrounding mental health and provide resources to the community to support those in need.
