Allegations against Detroit Tigers’ TV analyst Craig Monroe: What you need to know

Allegations lead to Craig Monroe being taken off TV broadcasts

In the past few weeks, there have been allegations made against Craig Monroe, the Detroit Tigers’ primary television analyst. These allegations were made on social media and claimed that Monroe had engaged in sexual misconduct with a child while staying with her family during his minor league career with the Port Charlotte Rangers. The woman who made the accusations is a Twitter and Instagram user.

On July 2, 2024, WDIV received a statement from Bally Sports Detroit and the Tigers addressing the situation. They stated that they are aware of the social media allegations and are taking them seriously. Monroe has not been on the broadcast schedule since the allegations surfaced and will continue to be absent indefinitely. Any further inquiries should be directed to Monroe himself.

Craig Monroe played for the Tigers from 2003-2007 and has been a member of the Tigers broadcast team for several years. He has not issued an official statement regarding these allegations yet, but it’s clear that this situation is very serious to him as well as to Bally Sports Detroit and the Tigers. As of now, there is no word when he will return to broadcasting duties.
