Results from the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials

The 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials were held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where the top two swimmers in each event had the chance to qualify for the individual events in Paris, while the top six swimmers in the 100m and 200m freestyles could make it to the relay team. The overall roster for the Olympic team should not exceed 26 swimmers per gender.

In the Women’s 400m Freestyle event, Katie Ledecky finished first with a time of 3:58.35, followed by Paige Madden in second place with a time of 4:02.08. Other top performers included Jillian Cox, Kayla Han, Aurora Roghair, Anna Peplowski, Leah Smith, and Madi Mintenko.

The Men’s 400m Freestyle event was won by Aaron Shackell with a time of 3:45.46 and Kieran Smith came in second place with a time of 3:45.76. David Johnston, Bobby Finke, Luke Whitlock, Jake Magahey, Daniel Matheson and Jake Mitchell also gave strong performances in the event.

Notable swimmer Caeleb Dressel made his return to competition after taking a break at this weekend’s Olympic Trials. Fans could follow along with the exciting competition on broadcast schedule that was available.

It is important to note that only two swimmers per gender are qualified for individual events in Paris while six swimmers per gender can make it to the relay team. The overall roster for the Olympic team should not exceed 26 swimmers per gender.

Overall it was an impressive performance from all athletes who competed at this year’s U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials and we look forward to seeing them compete on an international stage once again!
