Recently, there have been reports that Apple is in talks with Google to use its AI technology, Gemini, in its products. This comes after Apple announced its own free AI, Apple Intelligence, for its products along with a partnership with OpenAI to improve Siri’s capabilities. However, Bloomberg notes that Apple may also announce a deal with another AI company, either Google or Anthropic, to enhance its system.
While earlier reports suggested talks between Apple and Meta, it is now clarified that no deal materialized following their meeting in March. The report dismisses the possibility of a merger with Meta due to superior services offered by OpenAI and Google.
Apple’s AI capabilities will play a crucial role in boosting hardware sales. Experts predict new features to be a highlight of the iPhone 16 launch. In addition to this, Apple Intelligence is expected to extend to augmented and virtual reality glasses, Vision Pro. Despite active work on incorporating AI into these devices, the merger with Meta is not projected to happen this year according to Bloomberg.
