Auburn Football’s Recruitment: Momentum-Shifting Official Visit by Three-Star EDGE Herbert Scroggins

A visit to Auburn by Herbert Scroggins was a game-changer.

Auburn football has been busy with recruiting this summer, and their efforts have paid off as several targets have committed to Auburn following official visits. The next potential recruit to join Auburn is a three-star EDGE from Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia named Herbert Scroggins. Scroggins visited Auburn last weekend for an official visit and the visit has shifted his focus towards Auburn, making them the favorite in his recruitment process.

Chad Simmons of On3 described the visit as “momentum-changing” for both Auburn and Scroggins. While North Carolina, Miami, and Georgia Tech were initially seen as competitors, Auburn’s visit was successful in capturing Scroggins’ interest. On3 predicts that Auburn has a high chance of signing Scroggins, and two crystal balls from 247Sports have favored Auburn as well.

During his visit, Scroggins mentioned his interest in finding a balance between academics and football, a criterion that Auburn seems to fulfill. He praised Auburn’s academic facilities, particularly the engineering center, which influenced his decision-making process. Scroggins is scheduled to visit Miami next weekend before making his final decision early next week.

Scroggins is ranked as the No. 37 overall recruit in Georgia for the 2025 class and No. 34 overall EDGE for his class. His commitment to Auburn would be a big win for the program as they continue their recruiting efforts for the upcoming season. Follow @TheAuburnWire for more updates on this developing story.
