Health departments in northeast Oklahoma are partnering with businesses to improve the wellness of their employees. The Oklahoma State Department of Health is urging companies to prioritize employee health as a way to boost overall health and contribute to business success. The CDC launched Work@Health in Oklahoma in 2019, offering businesses tools and resources to establish or improve health and wellness programs.
Chrissy Swift, a Health Educator at the Rogers County Health Department, emphasized the importance of businesses participating in programs like Work@Health. By investing in employee well-being, companies can use these initiatives as a recruitment and retention tool. Swift explained that having such programs shows employees that their employers care about their health and well-being.
Businesses in district 4 counties, including Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Ottawa, Rogers, Wagoner, and Washington, have the chance to participate in a two-day training program later this month. Interested businesses should contact the Rogers County Health Department for more information on how to get involved. This initiative aims to help businesses create a healthy work environment and promote employee well-being.
