Boyne City Resident Sets World Record for Fastest Pizza Box Folding and Wins Gold in International Competition

David Whisker, a resident of Boyne City, Michigan, is an accomplished pizza box folder who has won the ‘Fastest Pizza Box Folding’ event in the ‘World Pizza Games’ held at Las Vegas as part of ‘The International Pizza Expo.’ Whisker works for B.C. Pizza, an establishment that originated in Boyne City. In 2023, he set the world record for folding pizza boxes by folding five 12-inch boxes in just 17.038 seconds. Although he didn’t beat that record this year, he still won the contest with a time of 18.094 seconds, making it his third consecutive win in the competition.

In addition to winning the ‘Fastest Pizza Box Folding’ event, Whisker also took second place in the ‘Fastest Dough’ category. Competitors in this event must toss out five 12-ounce dough balls quickly and cover five 12-inch pizza screens in the shortest amount of time possible. Whisker completed the task in 37.094 seconds. The competition consists of five events in total: Freestyle Acrobatic Dough Tossing, Fastest Dough, Largest Dough Stretch, Fastest Pizza Box Folding, and The Pizza Triathlon.
