Breaking Cancer Barriers: Salignostix’s Saliva Test Collaboration with Sheba Medical Center

Slignostics and Sheba Medical Center Join Forces to Develop Cancer Diagnostic Test Using Saliva Samples

In the world of medical research, collaboration is key. At Sheba Medical Center, this is evident in the way they approach cancer diagnosis and treatment. The Oral and Maxillofacial Institute, led by Dr. Alex Dobrian, works alongside the Ear, Nose and Throat Department, directed by Dr. Eran Alon, and the Institute of Pathology, headed by Prof. Iris Barshak. Along with these departments is Prof. Gidi Ravavi, who directs the center for cancer research at Sheba.

Together, these leaders have set their sights on developing a saliva test for oral cavity cancer. Saliva comes into direct contact with infected tissues, making it a potential source for disease markers that could aid in early detection of oral cavity cancer – a breakthrough that could significantly impact patients’ ability to recover from such cancers.

The Salignostix platform for saliva processing is central to this research collaboration. Developed based on years of scientific studies, the platform has led to the creation of rapid tests for detecting various health conditions including respiratory infections caused by streptococcus bacteria. Dr. Dobrian believes that early detection of head and neck cancers like oral cavity cancer would greatly benefit patients if implemented globally through collaborations with various entities like Salignostix.

Guy Kriaf, co-founder of Salignostix shares his optimism about this partnership with Sheba Medical Center stating that it has the potential to revolutionize cancer diagnosis and extend the lives of patients worldwide.

Salignostix offers rapid testing kits for home use based on saliva samples that have already been used for detecting pregnancy and coronavirus. Their plans include expanding their product line to include tests for other diseases such as respiratory infections caused by streptococcus bacteria.

This collaboration between Salignostix and Sheba Medical Center marks a new chapter in the fight against cancer by combining advanced medical technology with innovative research towards introducing breakthrough diagnostic tools that could save lives.

By integrating its technology into medical devices used in hospitals worldwide through partnerships with various entities like Sheba Medical Center, Salignostix aims to expand its reach in the healthcare industry while providing hope to those affected by cancer through early detection methods that could lead to better outcomes.
