On Sunday morning, a commercial structure fire broke out in Palm Desert, resulting in the destruction of four businesses located on Country Club Drive and Monterey Avenue. The fire started just after 3:00 AM inside a 30,000 sq. ft building within a strip mall. As a precaution, six nearby residents were evacuated while firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
Video footage captured by viewer Paul Aimbez showcases the intensity of the fire during its early hours. The fire was successfully contained by around 5:00 AM. Unfortunately, one Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There have been no other reported injuries at this time.
Fire crews will continue their presence at the scene to carry out overhaul and salvage operations. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Stay tuned to News Channel 3 for further updates on this developing situation.
