Breaking Records and Connecting Filmmakers: The 30th Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg Attracts Over 6,000 Guests and Introduces JFBB pro.

Record number of attendees at the conclusion of Jewish Film Festival

This year, the Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg (JFBB) attracted over 6,000 guests, surpassing its previous record of attendance. As managing director Andreas Stein noted, this was a significant milestone for the festival, which marked its 30th anniversary. The organizers deemed the festival to be of great social importance and it took place in Berlin, Potsdam and other cities in Brandenburg, showcasing a diverse range of films from Tuesday onwards.

One of the highlights of the festival was the introduction of a new industry event called JFBB pro. This initiative aimed to establish the festival as a major hub for Jewish filmmakers worldwide by providing them with a platform to connect and collaborate on film projects. The festival concluded on Sunday with award-winning films such as “Südsee” and “Vishniac.”

“Südsee” is a German-Israeli friendship film that explores the challenges faced by Jews living in Germany during the Middle East conflict. On the other hand, “Vishniac” is a documentary that delves into the life and work of Russian-American photographer Seymour Hersh. Both films were recognized for their excellence in their respective categories – feature film and documentary film. The festival was a celebration of Jewish culture and cinema, bringing together filmmakers and film enthusiasts from all over the world.
