Bringing Inflation Back to Normal: How Domestic Energy and Sustainable Budgets Can Help

Letter: Affordable energy is essential for revitalizing our economy – InForum

To combat the ongoing issue of inflation, it is essential to bring the rate back to a more normal range of 1-2%. This would help reduce the prices of everyday commodities and effectively give everyone a raise. However, factors such as interest rates, national debt, and excessive spending are hindering the economy and contributing to the inflation problem.

To address this issue and bring inflation back to a normal rate, access to cheap energy is crucial. Transportation of goods relies heavily on modes such as planes, trains, ships, barges, and trucks, which in turn depend on affordable energy sources like diesel fuel, aviation fuel, natural gas, and electricity. By reducing dependence on other nations for energy supply and utilizing domestic resources, the nation can become stronger and more self-sufficient.

Excessive spending by the government in Washington D.C is another significant factor contributing to inflation. The government’s excessive spending without adequate funds leads to a decrease in the value of currency, resulting in higher prices for consumers. It is imperative for the bureaucracy to be held accountable for their spending and measures to be taken to eliminate waste and fraud ultimately achieving a more realistic budget.

As citizens it is our responsibility to hold our representatives and government agencies accountable for their actions. The failure to establish a sustainable budget not only unacceptable but also dangerous for our country’s stability. We must support those in Congress who strive towards positive changes that work towards a better future for all citizens. Our way of life and livelihood are at stake; therefore it is crucial that we take action against inflationary pressures and excessive government spending.
