Broncos Player on Verge of Reinstatealment, but Investigation by Colorado Authorities Threatens to Halt Process

Investigation could postpone return of Broncos DL Eyioma Uwazurike

Broncos defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike is on the verge of potential reinstatement following a gambling suspension. However, an investigation by Colorado Department of Revenue and Arapahoe County prosecutors could delay the process. According to reports, Uwazurike is being investigated for placing 32 bets on five Broncos games, including one in which he played. The investigation began in Iowa but was halted due to a ruling that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation had wrongfully utilized geolocation software against Uwazurike and others.

Uwazurike’s legal representation, lawyer Harvey Steinberg, believes it would be difficult for Colorado prosecutors to pursue the case based on this ruling as all evidence seized in the case was suppressed by the court leading to charges being dismissed. Steinberg has represented many Broncos players in the past and has stated that his client has maintained his innocence throughout this ordeal.

While there is still hope for Uwazurike to be reinstated to the Broncos’ roster once he is cleared by the league, his future with the team remains uncertain until a final decision is made by both parties involved.
