Champs to Champ: The Fall of Ryan Garcia and His Boxing Empire

WBC President Excludes Ryan Garcia for Making Racist Comments Online

Ryan Garcia, a professional boxer, was recently arrested in Beverly Hills for felony vandalism. The incident has added to the negative headlines surrounding his behavior and led to his expulsion from the World Boxing Council (WBC). According to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, Garcia’s controversial social media posts were the reason for his expulsion, and he expressed concern about the boxer’s well-being.

Prior to this incident, Garcia had been suspended by the New York State Athletic Commission for testing positive for a banned substance before a fight against Devin Haney. Although he initially won the match, his victory was voided and changed to a “no contest” due to the failed drug test. Concerns about Garcia’s mental health were also raised leading up to that fight, with Sulaiman stating that Garcia declined help for mental health and substance abuse issues.

In addition to his legal and professional troubles, Garcia was also arrested at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills for causing damages exceeding $15,000. This incident further solidified concerns about Garcia’s behavior and mental state among fans and officials in the boxing world. Despite this, Garcia’s team at Golden Boy Promotions has remained silent on the matter, indicating a lack of response to address concerns about the boxer’s actions.
