Citadel CEO Ken Griffin Unveils 62-Story Skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, Boosting the Local Economy and Revitalizing the Neighborhood.

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, alongside Vornado and Rudin, has unveiled plans for a 62-story skyscraper in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The project, situated at 350 Park Avenue, is set to be completed by 2032 and will house over 6,000 jobs. The building will feature a public concourse with seating, green space, and art.

The mayor’s office believes that this new development will help revitalize the neighborhood, which had many vacant buildings during the pandemic. Mayor Adams expressed excitement about the project, stating that it will help energize Midtown Manhattan as a key business location and boost the local economy. As New Yorkers increasingly return to working in person, this new skyscraper is seen as a positive development for the city.

Griffin highlighted the building’s features, including incredible light, 360-degree views, and spacious layouts in one of the world’s leading financial centers. Though Griffin’s focus is currently on New York City, he has also mentioned that Miami could potentially become the next financial hub of the United States. Citadel relocated from Chicago to Miami in 2022, and Griffin sees potential in the city as a major financial center. With plans for a skyscraper in New York City and an eye on Miami’s future growth, Griffin is positioning himself to play a significant role in the financial industry.
