Countdown to Kickoff: Cardinals Prepare for Bills in Just 71 Days, with a Look Back at Justin Murray’s Time in Arizona

Countdown: 71 days until the Cardinals face off against the Bills in season opener

As the NFL offseason comes to a close and the start of the 2024 season approaches, the Arizona Cardinals are preparing for their regular-season opener against the Buffalo Bills. In just 71 days, the two teams will face off at Highmark Stadium. Currently wearing No. 71 for the Cardinals is offensive lineman Dennis Daley, who is entering his second year with the team but has yet to make a significant impact.

Daley’s journey with the Cardinals began last season when he started off on injured reserve due to an ankle injury sustained in the preseason finale. Throughout the season, he appeared in three games and started at left guard for one game, making him one of four players to start at that position. Prior to Daley, the No. 71 spot was held by offensive lineman Justin Murray, who played for the Cardinals from 2019 to 2021 after being claimed off waivers.

Murray quickly became a starter after joining the team, starting 12 games at right tackle in 2019 and seven games at guard in 2020. However, a back injury hindered his performance and caused him to play only three games in 2021 before leaving the team for other opportunities with the Bills and Titans. Despite his injury setbacks, Murray was a reliable starter for about a year and a half before moving on from Arizona.
