Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is a target for Italian powerhouse Napoli, according to reports. The Eagles forward had an impressive season in the Premier League, scoring 16 goals in 35 games, and has caught the eye of Napoli’s new Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna.
Manna is looking to strengthen Napoli’s attacking options and has identified Romelu Lukaku as a key target. However, the Belgian’s price tag may be a stumbling block. In addition to Mateta and Lukaku, Napoli is also keeping an eye on Girona striker Artem Dovbyk, who was the top scorer in La Liga last season.
Napoli had previously considered signing Mateta in 2022 but ultimately opted for Victor Osimhen. However, with Mateta reportedly open to a move to Serie A and Crystal Palace valuing him at around €30M, Napoli could be a potential target for the French striker as they continue to search for reinforcements in the transfer market.
