Dave Portnoy’s Sports Betting Streak Ends, but His Winning Streak Continues: $200,000 Bet on Philadelphia Phillies to Win 2024 World Series

Dave Portnoy places a bet on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series

Dave Portnoy’s sports betting streak may have ended, but that didn’t stop him from getting back into the action. On Tuesday, he placed a $200,000 bet on the Philadelphia Phillies to win the 2024 World Series for a potential profit of $1.2 million. This came after losing $70,000 on a bet on the Edmonton Oilers to win the Stanley Cup.

Despite his loss, Portnoy took to Twitter and acknowledged the end of his streak while expressing his appreciation for the Oilers’ efforts. He mentioned being glad that his friend @elio82 won and emphasized that all good things must come to an end, but now it’s time to start a new streak.

This Phillies bet is just one of many successful wagers Portnoy has made this year, claiming to have won approximately $7 million on various bets including wins on Michigan, the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, UConn in the national championship, Scottie Scheffler at the Masters and the Celtics in the NBA.

In early June, Portnoy may have jinxed himself by predicting championship wins for both teams before either series began. He shared his bets and highlighted the possibility of having a remarkable run in 2024 if both teams would win.
