Delaware Falls Short in Multiple Aspects to Rank Fourth on U.S. News and World Report’s Best Cities to Live In for 2024 List

In the 2024 ‘Best States’ rankings, where did the First State place?

U.S. News and World Report has released its annual list of the best cities to live in for 2024. The report considers various factors such as a state’s economy, public safety, education, and more. Delaware ranked fourth in fiscal stability, ninth in health care, and 21st in economy. However, the state fell short in infrastructure, crime and corrections, education, and natural environment.

The rankings were based on what matters most to residents, including healthcare and education followed by state economies, infrastructure, opportunities offered to residents. Fiscal stability, crime and corrections, natural environment are also taken into account. Delaware outperformed neighboring states Pennsylvania and Maryland but was ranked below New Jersey.
