The Philadelphia 76ers have announced the signing of veteran shooting guard Eric Gordon to a one-year, minimum-salary deal, as confirmed by a source to NBC Sports Philadelphia. This move was first reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, with PHLY Sports’ Kyle Neubeck being the first to report that Gordon would be joining the Sixers on a minimum contract.

Gordon, who is 35 years old, has spent his prime years playing for the Houston Rockets during current Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey’s tenure as GM. He was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year for the 2016-17 season and has averaged 15.7 points over 379 games with Houston. Known for his three-point shooting and ability to handle the ball, Gordon posted solid numbers last season with the Suns, averaging 11.0 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37.8 percent from long range on 5.8 attempts per contest. He has consistently been an efficient scorer throughout his career.
