Half Marathon Training: The Ultimate Workout for Runners – The Incredible World of Running

Welcome everyone to The Amazing Runner’s World Show! In today’s episode, we are excited to share with you some insights on how long you should run at max heart rate and the tips for determining your own max HR. We were joined by guest news editor Theo Kahler, who shared his experience of running the Brooklyn Half as a workout and valuable lessons he learned for his upcoming fall marathon.

We also want to talk about a hot topic on Reddit regarding the nutritional content of some running gels that RW+ members use. So make sure to watch the full episode below for more details.

In our previous episode, Aly tested out the Runner’s World What to Wear tool which helps simplify the process of layering for runners. We were joined by health and fitness editor Natascha Grief who discussed the 10 exercises all runners should do and a 16-week strength training plan for marathoners. Jeff provided an overview of the Hoka Skyward X, a new super trainer with Pebax foam and a carbon-fiber plate which RW+ members can watch in detail.

Jeff is the Runner-in-Chief for Runner’s World, overseeing the brand’s shoes and gear coverage. With over a decade of experience testing and reviewing shoes, Jeff ran in 285 different pairs of shoes in 2017. He even had a streak of 257 days wearing a different model each day!
