Exploring Marine Science: Heal the Bay’s Aquarium Science Camp Offers Hands-On Learning for Kids

Heal the Bay offers children an opportunity to participate in science activities and explore water systems this summer through their Aquarium Science Camp. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the coastal waters and watersheds in Greater Los Angeles, Heal the Bay provides various programs and camps throughout the year to inspire young students with a passion for science and learning.

The Aquarium Science Camp runs from June 24 to July 26 and offers a hands-on learning experience for kids. Each week, campers get to explore different ocean environments, interact with live animals in the Aquarium, observe the beach, play games, and learn how to be responsible ocean stewards. The camp environment allows children to have fun while making their own observations, asking questions, explaining their findings, and sharing information with their peers.

According to Kelly Kelly, Associate Director of Aquarium Education at Heal the Bay, the camp offers engaging experiences like digging in the sand, discovering sand crabs, and participating in activities that encourage a love for both science and the ocean. The camp is open to kids entering kindergarten through eighth grade and both daily and weekly rates are available for registration.
