In 2001, Bezerk Productions was founded as an interdisciplinary group of individuals on the emotional behavioral spectrum. Since then, the nonprofit organization has been operating in Yucca Valley, offering workshops twice a week to clubhouses and Transitional Age Youth centers in San Bernardino County. The organization’s latest project is a mental health coloring book called “See, See, See, More! Listen With Your Eyes,” which will be revealed at a celebration on June 20th from 3-5 p.m. at Birdcage Comics Cafe in San Bernardino.
The coloring book was made possible through a Creative Corps grant from the California Arts Council and was created by artists on the emotional behavioral spectrum. Artists Cathy Dye, Lilian Iskandar, Mia Jette, Erica Mosco, Jeff Pippin, Jeff Pope, and Denise Smith will be present at the event to discuss their work. Free copies of the coloring book will be available to attendees.
Bezerk Productions has been relaunched with funding from the Mental Health Services Act and offers workshops to clubhouses and Transitional Age Youth centers in San Bernardino County. The organization’s mission is to provide opportunities for individuals on the emotional behavioral spectrum to express themselves through art and creative expression. The coloring book project is just one example of how Bezerk Productions is working towards this goal.
