The Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival has kicked off in southern Nevada, running from April 26 to May 4. With over 40 events planned, attendees can experience activities such as exploring the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, going behind-the-scenes at the Bellagio Fountains, and participating in a community art workshop at Omega Mart at AREA15.
The festival aims to bring science out of textbooks and into the real world, inspiring the next generation of innovators in the community. Alexandra Liebman, director of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival, explains that businesses have an opportunity to offer resources and activities for youth to learn more about their organization, careers and the science and technology they use in their daily operations.
All events during the festival are free and open to the public but registration is required due to limited space and availability. To see the full list of events and register, visit the festival’s website. The festival concludes with a Science and Technology Expo at the World Market Center on May 4 where a $1,000 prize will be awarded to CCSD school with highest student and family attendance at Expo.
