According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Kings are reportedly exploring the possibility of a significant trade. Sacramento has expressed interest in trading for New Orleans Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram. While discussions have not yet progressed between the Kings and Pelicans, the Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors are also being considered as potential trade partners for Ingram.
During the 2024 NBA Draft, the Kings put together a trade package that included Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, and draft picks to offer to other teams. One of the picks included the No. 13 overall selection, which was used to draft Devin Carter. Although general manager Monte McNair was pleased with the selection of Carter, there is still a possibility that the Kings could use their future first-round picks to sweeten a potential trade offer for a player like Ingram.
As an NBA All-Star, Ingram could significantly enhance the Kings’ young core with his scoring, playmaking, and rebounding abilities. With averages of 20.8 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season, Ingram would be a valuable addition to Sacramento’s roster.
