The Catawba Science Center is set to launch a new exhibit on July 10 called “Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond.” This permanent exhibit, located in the Hall of Astronomy, just outside the Millholland Planetarium, will allow visitors to explore the solar system and learn about space travel. One of the highlights of the exhibit is a Mars pod that offers guests a glimpse into what it would be like to live on the red planet.
In addition to the exhibit, there will be a new planetarium show called “Destination Mars,” narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison. Visitors can visit CatawbaScience.org/Hall-of-Astronomy to find out more about the exhibit and planetarium show.
The Catawba Science Center is located at 243 3rd Avenue N.E. in Hickory and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Plan your visit to explore the wonders of the universe in this exciting new exhibit!
