On Tuesday, a fire broke out in Flatwoods, Ky., destroying parts of Tri-State Enterprise and Lawn Care near Argillite Road. Jake Styes, a resident, was relieved that no one was injured in the incident as everyone inside the building was able to evacuate safely.
Styes was at school when the fire broke out and could only see the smoke from a distance. He expressed gratitude to the first responders for their quick actions in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of the neighborhood. The Flatwoods Fire Chief stated that investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire, but it is believed to be accidental.
Styes described feeling a mix of fear and relief upon returning home to see the aftermath of the fire. He thanked the firefighters who helped save his home and his neighbors’ homes. The community is thankful that everyone made it out safely and that the situation was brought under control swiftly.
