Fish Cake Bread: CWTS Group’s Viral Product Bringing Vietnamese Street Food to the US

America loves Vietnamese frozen fish cake bread

In the US, fish cake bread has become a popular dish, with some months seeing sales of up to 50,000 pieces. CWTS Group, founded in 2004 by Ms. Chinh Nguyen, has played a significant role in this success. After 20 years of doing business in Texas, Ms. Nguyen decided to bring Vietnamese street food to the US and experimented with various products including fish cake bread.

The company’s products are produced in Vietnam and frozen for export to the US. Fish cake bread has been one of the most popular items, with sales ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 boxes per month. Each box contains 25 pairs of breadsticks filled with fish cake and served with shrimp sauce and pickles.

Despite being street-style products, these frozen foods must be produced in factories that have FDA and USDA certificates. The production process is strictly inspected from input materials to storage and distribution. All products must also be approved by the USDA for official import before they can reach customers in the US.

Vietnamese American customers have shown a strong preference for these products, citing the authentic flavors that remind them of home. CWTS Group plans to expand its product portfolio to include other Vietnamese dishes such as sour soups and braised fish for export to the US.

Reaching 300,000 Vietnamese customers every month is a significant milestone for CWTS Group, which has over 20 years of experience in Asian food distribution in the US. With an annual consumption goal of 7.2 million products of each type, the company aims to continue its success in bringing Vietnamese street food to American consumers.
