Fleetwood Town Signs Former Everton Midfielder Mackenzie Hunt and Defender James Bolton to Boost Its Roster for the 2022-23 Season

Fleetwood acquire midfielder Hunt and defender Bolton

Fleetwood Town has just added two new players to its roster, James Bolton from St Mirren and former Everton midfielder Mackenzie Hunt. Bolton, a 29-year-old defender, played 26 games for the Scottish side last season and has signed a two-year contract with Fleetwood. He brings a wealth of experience having played for various clubs such as Macclesfield, Halifax, Gateshead, Shrewsbury, Portsmouth, and Plymouth where he was part of the League One winning squad in 2022-23.

On the other hand, Hunt is a 22-year-old midfielder who was released by Everton earlier this summer. Despite being on Everton’s books since the age of 13, he never made a senior appearance for the club but was named on the bench 17 times in the Premier League last season. Hunt expressed his excitement about joining Fleetwood and praised the manager’s ambitions while looking forward to a fresh start with a team that is determined to bounce back from last season’s disappointing performance.

Hunt is eager to start playing “proper football” at Fleetwood and believes that this is the right place for him to do that. With experience in competitions like the Bristol Street Motors Trophy with Everton’s under-21s, Hunt is looking forward to making an impact with Fleetwood and contributing to its success in the upcoming season.

In summary, Fleetwood Town has signed two new players – former Everton midfielder Mackenzie Hunt and defender James Bolton from St Mirren – as it looks forward to bouncing back from last season’s disappointing performance. Both players bring valuable experience to their new club and are excited about joining Fleetwood Town.
