Michèle Mouton, the former world rally champion, has had her life rights acquired by Perfect Storm Entertainment. The company plans to develop a biopic based on her incredible journey in the male-dominated world of rally racing in the 1970s and 80s.
Mouton’s accomplishments are nothing short of remarkable. Despite facing numerous obstacles, she became a trailblazer in the motorsport world during the Group B era and achieved the incredible feat of winning four FIA World Rally Championship races. She remains the only woman to have won a World Rally Championship race, cementing her status as one of the greatest motorsport drivers in history.
The project will be produced by Perfect Storm Entertainment, with Justin Lin, Andrew Schneider, and Sal Gatdula serving as producers. Andy Holland and Jessica Sinclair from Drum Studios will also be involved in the production. Mouton and her daughter, Jessie Johnsson-Lüthy, will serve as executive producers on the biopic.
Perfect Storm Entertainment is known for its diverse slate of projects in various genres, including independent films like The Last Days of John Allen Chau, Apple series Two For The Money starring Charlize Theron and Daniel Craig, Participant Media film Abacus and adaptations like One Punch Man for Sony. They also have TV projects such as Seven Wonders for Amazon Prime and The Islands for Peacock under their belt along with Infinite Thread and an untitled Joshua Troke project for Universal Television.
