From Fayetteville to Wilmington: A Look at the Permanent Closure of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux

Latest Closure of a Sports Bar and Restaurant on Skibo Road

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville has permanently closed its doors, as announced on a notice posted on the restaurant’s door. The Louisiana-based chain initially started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before expanding into North Carolina by opening at 2116 Skibo Road in Fayetteville in 2019. Unfortunately, this location has come to an end.

The sign on the door conveys gratitude to patrons for being part of their journey and looks forward to continued support at other locations. Radio station WKML reported seeing the sign on May 8, with its presence still there as of Monday. The sign also mentions the closest Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux now being in Wilmington, as the Fayetteville location is permanently closed.

Despite efforts to reach out to the property owners, former employees, and checking the restaurant’s online presence, no additional information was gathered about why this location closed down permanently. The corporate office confirmed the closure via email but did not provide any specific reasons behind it. The Fayetteville store’s Facebook page is no longer available, and Google lists the location as permanently closed.

With this closure, patrons of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Fayetteville will have to visit other locations for their favorite sports bar and cajun cuisine fix.
