From Main Street Math to Robotics: Exciting Summer Camps for K-8 Students at Fort Hays State University’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute

This summer, Fort Hays State University’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI) is offering a variety of camps for students in grades four through eight. These camps are filling up quickly and have a maximum of two camps allowed per student.

The camps run for four days a week, from Monday to Thursday, with each session lasting for three hours. Morning camps take place from 9 a.m. to noon, while afternoon camps run from 1 to 4 p.m. The camps cover a range of STEM topics and hands-on activities that will engage students and spark their interest in science and math.

Some of the exciting camps offered this year include Main Street Math Camp for grades four through six, A Sense of Place: Designing for Folklore and Fairytale Camp for grades five through eight, Camp North Star for grades five through seven, and specialized robotics camps for different grade levels. These camps will provide students with unique opportunities to learn new skills and explore their interests in STEM.

The registration fee for each camp is $70, and the deadline to register is Friday, May 3rd. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of two camps per student. To learn more about these exciting summer camps or to register your child today, please contact Cari Rohleder at 785-628-4743 or via email at [email protected]. You can also find registration brochures and additional information on the SMEI website. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to help your child discover their passion for science and math!
