From Pro Football Hall of Famer’s Grandson to Future NFL Star: The Browns’ Roster Move Involving Wyatt Davis and Jayden Peevy

Wyatt Davis signed by Browns, Jayden Peevy released

The Browns made a roster move on Friday by signing offensive guard Wyatt Davis. In order to add Davis to the roster, the team waived defensive tackle Jayden Peevy. Since entering the league, Davis has appeared in a total of nine games with the Vikings, Giants, Saints, and Cardinals. Last season, Davis was on injured reserve with the Giants. Notably, Davis has football in his blood as his grandfather is Pro Football Hall of Famer Willie Davis.

On the other hand, Peevy had signed a futures contract with the Browns after last season. Peevy initially entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2022. He has played in two games for the Titans and has spent time on both the Titans’ and Panthers’ practice squads. Ultimately, Peevy’s roster spot was sacrificed to make room for Davis on the Browns’ roster.
