Georgia Tech Looks to Elevate Coaching Rankings with Highly Anticipated Matchup Against Florida State in 2024

What is Brent Key’s rank in the latest CBS Sports ACC Coaching Rankings?

Georgia Tech is set to kick off the 2024 college football season in just 50 days, with a highly anticipated matchup against Florida State in Dublin, Ireland. This year, the defending ACC Champions will face off against one of the conference’s surprise teams from the previous year, who will be returning many key starters from their successful campaign.

Last season was a successful debut for head coach Brent Key, as he led the Yellow Jackets to a 7-6 record and secured their first bowl game appearance since 2018 and their first bowl game victory since 2016. Despite facing challenges along the way, Key’s leadership was instrumental in the team’s achievements.

Recently, CBS Sports released their ACC Coaching Rankings for the upcoming 2024 season, with Key being ranked as the 13th best coach in the conference. This ranking placed him ahead of notable coaches such as Justin Wilcox, Troy Taylor, Tony Elliott, and Fran Brown. Dabo Swinney claimed the top spot in the rankings, followed by Mike Norvell, Dave Doeren, Jeff Brohm, and Dave Clawson.

Looking ahead to this season, Key is determined to improve his team’s performance and climb higher up the coaching ranks. The Yellow Jackets face a challenging schedule this year but are optimistic that with significant changes to their defensive coaching staff and new players through transfers they can address weaknesses from last year and continue making progress towards higher rankings in future seasons.
