GIDARA Energy’s HTW® Technology Selected for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production Feasibility Study

GIDARA Energy’s HTW® (High Temperature Winkler) technology has been selected by Aker Solutions (AKSO) to participate in a feasibility study for the Equinor Mongstad Industrial Transformation (MIT) project. The main goal of this project is to transform solid waste and RDF into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

As part of the study, GIDARA aims to showcase its in-house HTW® Gasification unit, which is designed to convert solid waste feedstock into clean syngas. This process involves pre-treatment of waste (drying/storing) and cleaning/treatment of raw syngas to ensure it meets quality standards.

The clean and sustainable syngas produced will then be used to create SAF through either a Fischer-Tropsch process or a methanol/ethanol-to-jet process. Dr. Norbert Kamp, CEO of GIDARA Energy, expressed his excitement at the prospect of collaborating with Aker Solutions and Equinor on this innovative project.

GIDARA Energy specializes in converting waste feedstocks into sustainable fuels and circular chemicals using their patented technologies. Their HTW® technology produces syngas, a versatile mixture that can be used to create various sustainable fuels and circular chemicals such as methanol, hydrogen, methane, and bio-based substances.

In addition, this syngas can also be directly converted into heat and power, providing additional benefits for sectors looking to reduce their dependence on fossil resources and lower carbon emissions. GIDARA Energy’s commitment to addressing waste management, reducing CO2 emissions, and combating climate change is evident in their innovative approach to converting waste into valuable and sustainable products.

In conclusion, GIDARA Energy’s selection for participation in the feasibility study for the MIT project represents an exciting opportunity for the company to showcase its technology’s capabilities in converting solid waste into sustainable aviation fuel while contributing towards more environmentally friendly practices in industrial transformation.
