Exploring the World: Student Travel with e-flux Education

During recent residencies in Mexico City, Athens, and Marrakech, students of IDSVA shared their experiences and thoughts about the program. The unique institution does not have a physical campus and exists wherever its students and faculty are located.

One student, Maggie McKee, expressed her appreciation for the program’s structure that appealed to her as an international teacher. She appreciated the flexibility to continue working during the program while also having rich and intense learning opportunities. Another student, Monica Bryant, described IDSVA as the ideal PhD program due to its hybrid format of online coursework and global residencies. Rikiesha Metzger highlighted the captivating journey around the world that was made possible by IDSVA’s blend of online and in-person residencies.

Amy Schuessler expressed gratitude for the opportunity to travel as part of the program, particularly emphasizing the magical experience of being in Mexico City.
