Global Law Firm White & Case LLP Advises on $600 Million Merger of Leading Science Company and Biotechnology Firm

White & Case provides counsel to Merck KGaA in $600 million acquisition of Mirus Bio

White & Case LLP, a renowned global law firm, has recently advised Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany (MKDG) on their agreement to acquire Mirus Bio, a life science company, for US$600 million. MKDG is a leading science and technology company that specializes in the development of novel modalities such as cell and gene therapies. This acquisition will significantly enhance their offerings in viral vector manufacturing and complement their existing portfolio in the development and production of these therapies.

The transaction with Gamma Biosciences, a life sciences platform established by global investment firm KKR for the acquisition of Mirus Bio, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024. However, the completion of the deal is subject to regulatory clearance and other customary closing conditions.
