Google Photos: New Feature Allows Users to Control the Visibility of Specific Faces in Memories

Google Photos is developing a ‘Show less’ feature for specific faces in the Memories section

Google Photos is adding a new feature to the Memories section that will allow users to limit the appearance of specific faces in the photos collected in this space. The application is able to detect images of places, pets, or faces and display them in organized sections, such as People Search for faces. This organization makes it easier for users to find photos with a certain element in them.

The new functionality is part of version v6.81.0.628906483 of the app and includes a ‘Show less’ button that allows users to keep images of a certain person saved in the app’s storage, but limits how often they appear in Memories. This new feature is more permissive than the ‘Block face’ option, which completely removes faces from Memories and group photos. In the ‘People and Pets’ section of Google Photos, there will be a button to ‘Hide faces from memories’, which will not show memories with those people as often, even though they may still appear in group photos.

Users can modify this functionality from the Settings section of the app by accessing the Preferences space and then clicking on Memories. With this new feature, users have more control over the content that appears in their Memories section, allowing them to personalize their photo viewing experience.
