Hands-on Business Experience: How Santa Fe Christian High School’s Senior Business Week Prepares Students for Life After Graduation

The popular tradition of ‘Senior Business Week’ makes a comeback at Santa Fe Christian Schools

This week, Santa Fe Christian High School is hosting its annual Senior Business Week, where students are working in teams to select a product to resell within the community. The project is part of an end-of-the-year economic project that provides students with real-life experience by partnering with local businesses.

As part of the program, students take on various roles within their groups, such as CEO, CFO, CMO, and HR, to gain insight into the day-to-day challenges of running a business. They first meet with SFC leadership to understand their responsibilities before working together to develop a business concept and present it to a panel of entrepreneurs. The group that raises the most money will be able to donate a class gift to SFC at the end of the week.

Senior Hudson Taylor spoke about how valuable this hands-on experience has been for him and his peers. He noted that the fun and experience gained throughout the process have been invaluable. Senior Business Week aims to test students’ communication, planning, and execution skills before they graduate and begin their next chapter.

High school teacher Billy Thompson emphasized the importance of Senior Business Week in helping students develop problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills that will benefit them beyond high school. This project is highly anticipated by SFC students and is seen as a valuable opportunity to gain practical skills for life after graduation.

Senior Arden Sur expressed gratitude towards all those who supported Senior Business Week, highlighting how much participants appreciated this hands-on learning experience.
