Harriet Dart won an impressive 6-4 6-0 victory over Zhuoxuan Bai on court 18. The win sets her up for a potential second-round meeting with British number one Katie Boulter, who is scheduled to play Tatjana Maria later in the day.
Dart, currently ranked 94th in the world, did not drop a service game against Bai. She broke her opponent in the 10th game to take the first set. A rain delay briefly interrupted the match, but Dart returned to finish off the victory in dominant fashion.
With Andy Murray opting out of singles play due to a recent back operation, Dart is now one of 11 Britons in action at Wimbledon on Tuesday. Jack Draper, Britain’s leading men’s player, will be facing Sweden’s Elias Ymer on Centre Court. Other British players in action include Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, Jacob Fearnley, Paul Jubb, Billy Harris, Henry Searle, Fran Jones
