Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and Startup Uni 5.0 Partner with Digital Content Businesses to Teach Livestreaming Skills, Boost Entrepreneurial Spirit and Talent Development

Activating the Startup Spirit: Teaching Students through Livestreaming

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade and Startup Uni 5.0 have partnered with a group of digital content businesses to teach livestreaming to students, in an effort to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit and find talent. On June 26, the “Closing Stars” duo, Phuong Oanh Daily and Huynh Bao, who grew up from the KOC Vietnam 2023 contest, demonstrated livestream sales techniques at the university, including how to introduce products, pin shopping carts, try them out, and close orders in front of the camera. The session was one of several soft skills training activities for students implemented by both universities.

Livestreaming has become an increasingly popular tool for e-commerce businesses in Vietnam, with platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tiki, and Sendo offering live streaming features for sellers. Livestream sales have also gained popularity on social media platforms like Facebook. In recent years, live streams have been “feverish” with huge sales announcements being made during live sessions.

To stay competitive in the modern business environment, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade encourages its students to be creative and adapt quickly to change. Introducing livestreaming into teaching helps students quickly adapt to the development of the e-commerce industry and accessibility trends. Other colleges and universities have also recently introduced livestreaming into their teaching curricula both extracurricularly and curricularly. Gia Dinh University and Vietnam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) organized a free livestream course for students in mid-June with experts from House of Deera MCN while FPT Polytechnic College integrated it into its curriculum through specialized activities and direct interactions with speakers before integrating it into their training program.
