Hyundai Motor Tackles Extreme Heat and Air Pollution in Pakistan with Nano Cooling Film

Hyundai Motor Group Presents Cutting-Edge Technology and Creative Campaign at Cannes Lions Festival

In April, Hyundai Motor introduced its groundbreaking Nano Cooling Film in Lahore, Pakistan. The city’s extreme heat, air pollution, and window tinting laws presented a challenge for the technology’s implementation. However, the ‘Made Cooler By Hyundai’ campaign was launched to assist locals who often struggled with high fuel costs due to excessive air conditioning usage. Despite the local tinting ban, over 70 vehicles were equipped with Nano Cooling Film for free.

The film is designed to reduce a vehicle interior’s temperature by up to 10°C in hot weather without tinting the glass. It significantly decreases energy consumption required to cool the interior while maintaining clear visibility through windows. The Nano Cooling Film is made up of three layers: an outer layer that radiates heat at mid-infrared wavelengths from the interior to the exterior of the vehicle and two inner layers that reflect incoming heat at near-infrared wavelengths. This effectively reduces the total amount of heat that enters the vehicle interior.

During a seminar held in May, Hyundai Motor showcased its successful campaign in Pakistan and received positive feedback from global media and marketing professionals who were interested in learning about how technology can be utilized to address social issues. The seminar emphasized how brand courage and respect for legal realities and cultural norms are crucial when introducing advanced technologies such as Nano Cooling Film.

Overall, Nano Cooling Film represents a significant innovation in reducing energy consumption and improving driving comfort in hot weather conditions while respecting local regulations and cultural norms.
