India’s T20 World Cup victory has earned the team a bonus of INR 125 crore (USD 15 million) from the BCCI. This was announced by Board Secretary Jay Shah following the thrilling win over South Africa in the final. The squad was praised for their exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The ICC had previously announced a cash prize of USD 2.45 million for the winners of the World Cup, along with an additional $31,154 for each match won by every team except in the semi-finals and finals. This cash prize is the highest in men’s T20 World Cup history, representing a significant increase from previous years.

Overall, all teams participating in the tournament will receive more prize and participation money than in previous years. The total prize money for the tournament has more than doubled from USD 5.6 million in 2022 to USD 11.25 million this year, meaning an increase in awards for all 20 participating teams across the board.

As runners-up, South Africa will receive USD 1.28 million, which is a notable increase from their prize money awarded in 2022. Losing semi-finalists Afghanistan and England will each receive USD 787,500 also a significant increase from previous years. This increase in prize money reflects a commitment to recognizing and rewarding players’ achievements throughout the tournament.

In conclusion, India’s victory at T20 World Cup has not only brought them glory but also financial rewards as well. With this bonus and cash prize together with additional matches won monetary benefits have been tripled compared to previous years tournaments.
