Isaiah Harris Helps Set World Record in DMR Relay with Strong Leg Run

At Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, the Brooks Beasts team broke a world record in the distance medley relay. The event featured a key role played by Isaiah Harris, a Lewiston native who ran the 800-meter leg of the DMR. The Beasts completed the race in 9 minutes, 14.58 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 9:15.50 set in 2015.

The race began with Brannon Kidder taking the first leg for Brooks, running the 1,200 meters in 2:49.6. Brandon Miller then increased the Beasts’ lead by running a 400 in 46.6 seconds, handing off to Harris with a 2.63-second lead over the other teams. Harris ran a strong race, completing his first lap in 50.8 seconds and his second in 54.9, extending the lead to six seconds before passing the baton to Henry Wynne for the final 1,600 meters.

Wynne continued his strong performance by pulling away from the other teams in the final stretch and finishing his leg in an impressive time of 3:52.64. This finish allowed Brooks to surpass their own previous world record by nearly a second and cement their place as one of history’s best DMR teams at Oregon Relays.

Harris’s exceptional performance was instrumental in this historic feat achieved by Brooks Beasts team at Oregon Relays.

The competition included two other teams: DMR All-Stars and Wannabeast.
