Israeli Bombing in Damascus: Tensions Rising between Two Nations as Iranian Commander Killed

Attack on Iranian Embassy in Damascus by Israel Prompts Response from Tehran

The recent bombing by Israel in Damascus, targeting the area near the Iranian embassy, has led to a tense situation between the two nations. The attack resulted in the death of a Pasdaran commander and at least 7 casualties, including high-ranking Pasdaran officer Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

According to reports from Iranian media, the Israeli raid destroyed the consulate and residence of the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, resulting in at least 7 casualties. The Revolutionary Guard Corps condemned the attack, stating that it was in response to Israel’s failure against Palestinian and regional resistance fighters.

The Israeli Defense Forces withdrew from al-Shifa hospital in Gaza after a 14-day operation that resulted in the destruction of the hospital and the reported discovery of hundreds of bodies. The White House expressed concern over the situation and called for further information, while the Iranian Foreign Ministry called for an urgent international investigation into Israeli atrocities at the hospital.

Iran’s foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian condemned Israel’s violation of international norms and called on the international community to take a firm stand against such criminal acts. He also questioned whether international institutions and human rights defenders would support an investigation into war crimes committed at al-Shifa hospital.

The situation remains tense as both Israel and Iran prepare for potential retaliatory actions.
