The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a 26-year-old Israeli youth had tragically passed away in the Huaraz region of northern Peru. The young man had gone missing several weeks ago while on an adventurous trip in the area and had lost contact with him. The Israeli Embassy in Lima, along with the Magnus rescue company, had been working with local authorities to locate him. Unfortunately, during the search, his body was discovered. The Department for Israelis Abroad is currently in touch with his family in Israel and is helping them through this difficult time.

Zamir, a member of a family of veteran industrialists in Jerusalem, was a brave soldier who fought valiantly in the Iron Sword War for 161 days, losing 16 friends along the way. He flew to Peru to explore the natural landscapes he loved before intending to return to combat with his unit.
