Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev has recently disclosed the expenses incurred during her official visits to five countries in the past year. The ministry revealed that the total cost of these visits, excluding security expenses, was approximately 1 million shekels.
Morocco was the country where most significant costs were incurred, with a week-long delegation trip led by Regev amounting to 370 thousand shekels. The visits to India and Sri Lanka cost 255 thousand shekels each, while the trips to Mexico and Georgia cost 295 thousand shekels and 164 thousand shekels respectively.
The ministry’s transparency in sharing these figures allowed for clarity on taxpayer spending related to these official visits. This move is commendable as it provides accountability and ensures that public funds are being used appropriately.
