Italy’s Euro 2024 Preparations: Spalletti Names Big Stars and Fan Favorites to Squad

Jorginho & Vicario named in Italy’s preliminary Euro squad

Italy is preparing for the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament, with coach Luciano Spalletti leading a squad of talented players. Among them is Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, who played a key role in helping his team finish second in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has also been named in Italy’s provisional 30-man squad for Euro 2024, highlighting his contribution to his club. The Italy squad includes players like Nicolo Fagioli and Gianluca Scamacca, who have made significant impacts in their respective clubs.

Spalletti has left out some big names from the squad, including Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti. However, he has included striker Gianluca Scamacca after he recently won the Europa League with Atalanta.

Italy will face tough competition in a group that includes Spain and Croatia, as they are the defending champions of the tournament. They failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, adding pressure on them to perform well in Euro 2024. The deadline for final squads to be submitted is on 7 June, adding more excitement and anticipation for fans and players alike.
