The JMU football team has been quite active in the transfer portal during the winter season, prompting the creation of a new tracker to monitor all the movement. Although there have been no additions to the team yet, several players have departed. Tyrique Tucker, a promising defensive tackle who saw significant playing time and production in the 2023 season, left the program. Sammy Malignaggi, a backup running back who had limited opportunities last season and wouldn’t have seen much playing time in 2024, also left. Solomon Vanhorse, a versatile player at running back and returner who had a successful career with the Dukes but was expected to be the third running back on the depth chart, also decided to leave. Collin Carroll, a tight end who redshirted in 2023 and was looking for more playing time, also left. Lastly, Wesley Bostic, an offensive lineman with three years of eligibility left due to not expecting much playing time in 2024.
