Join the Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative and Shape the Future of Healthcare in Your Community

Membership Opens for Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative

The Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative is now accepting applications for membership in the 15-county Chippewa Valley region. Both community and physician members are welcome, with eligibility requirements including being 18 years old and licensed to practice medicine in Wisconsin, respectively. There is a one-time fee of $25 for community members and $100 for physicians. The cooperative recommends that members make use of its facilities and services once they become available.

The cooperative has recently announced plans to construct an independent, nonprofit community hospital in the Chippewa Valley region. Founded on February 29, 2024, by local leaders, the cooperative aims to improve healthcare access and affordability in the area. By maintaining control over governance and management within the Chippewa Valley, the organization intends to be accountable to the community rather than external stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to provide high-quality healthcare services for generations to come.

As a member of the cooperative, you will have a voice in shaping the future of healthcare in your community through participation on a formal Board of Directors later this year. This cooperative business model puts members who utilize the services at the heart of decision-making processes, ensuring that healthcare remains accountable and accessible to those who need it most. Wisconsin has a long history of cooperatives, with over 850 businesses owned by 2.9 million residents. This community-driven initiative aims to ensure that healthcare services remain accountable and accessible to the people of the Chippewa Valley region.

Joining the Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative is an opportunity to be part of something bigger than just yourself – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of healthcare in your community and beyond. With membership open now, there’s no time like the present to become involved and make a difference.
